One of our beloved Co-Educators, Nicole has left Ngutu College. We decided that we would write our first educator profile on her.
Nicole worked at Ngutu College for just over two terms and although she was only here for a short amount of time, she made so many connections with the learners here. She loved this job, especially the kids (in the senior building), which is where she primarily worked.
Before she worked at Ngutu College, Nicole worked in the kitchen at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for three years. Her dream job is to be a professional netball player. She doesn’t really have a preferred position on the court and she reckons she can play anywhere. If she had to choose a position, Wing Attack, Goal Attack or Centre.
Nicole obviously enjoys playing netball but as well as netball, she likes being with family, playing board games and traveling. It is safe to say that Nicole loves to travel. She has been to thirty two different countries all over the world but of all of them, her favourite place that she has traveled to, is Latin America. She really enjoyed everything from the sights, to the food, to the culture. Although having been to so many different countries, Nicole's dream travel destination is the northern side of Asia, visiting China, Japan and South Korea.
A regular morning for her was getting to school at 7 a.m. for the bus run which is before we even wake up! After the bus run, she usually went outside for Ninku Tirntu. During the rest of the school day, she gave support where it was needed and followed the time table. Nicole has many good memories at Ngutu College but her favourite memory changes depending on who she was talking to. She didn’t have any pets, as she wasn’t much of an animal person, although like most of the College she loved George.
She will be learning how to drive dump trucks where the wheels are double her height. She said she will miss us all very much and she will hopefully be back for a couple of days a month. We all miss Nicole but we hope she has a wonderful time in Queensland working at the mines.
